But It started stumbling near the top of third gear which I later traced down to fuel starvation due the stock carburetion. In recalculating the times from a the 1/8th mile figures I get a zero-to-sixty of 5.15 and a 1/4 mile of 13.8@100. Pretty good for a 38 year old carbureted 6-cylinder. The car I raced was a '69 camaro, I was ahead until about 70 MPH, bet he was sweating. With low rear-end gearing, good spark, and a cam to open the top end up these motor can produce some really impressive results. |
